The Waterloo Optimist Club will be selling Christmas trees starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Waterloo Schnuck's lot. The proceeds go to support the youth of Waterloo. If you're in the market for a real tree this year, please consider buying from this great organization to support a great cause!

The 2015 Illinois Optimist Junior Golf qualifying tournament will be held at Red Tail Golf Club in Decatur, Illinois from June 15-18.
Participating golfers should register for the tournament online at: https://sites.google.com/site/iloptimistgolf/. Please take time to visit the website, check the dates, and qualifying information. Please also make special note of Important Change for 2015 OIJGC (specified on OIJGC website.)
As part of our junior golf program, the Waterloo Optimist Club will once again be working with Waterloo High School and Gibault Catholic High School to sponsor two (2) male and two (2) female golfers from each school. Selection of qualified participants is up to the recommendation of the respective head golf coaches. See your high school golf coach for more information.
The Optimist Club of Waterloo has held a Youth Appreciation Banquet annually for over 50 years. We have had different formats and criteria to determine the recipients of the awards over the years. Currently, we honor students selected by their schools to receive certificates and recognition for good citizenship, good moral character, and just being good kids. The schools involved are Waterloo High School,Waterloo Jr. High School,Gibault Catholic High School and SS Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School. The club looks forward to many more years of honoring the youth of our community.
